It’s Righted!

After nearly two years, the shipwrecked Costa Concordia has finally been righted!

“A testament to what engineering can do” indeed.

Make no mistake, we mean American (and others of Northern European – including likely Northern Italian) engineering:

This is a testament to the ability, and importance, of Northern European (and their derivatives) high average IQ.

Previously:

It’s still there…

and

Those Italians…

Now, before any incensed Italians come berating me again, let me say that I’m not trying to deride your country or your people. I’m merely pointing out what low average IQ and high levels of corruption – which you find in Southern Italy – leads to. Believe me, Southern Italians are not unique in this regard, nor or we Americans immune to these problems by any stretch (especially given the more clannish populations in our midst).

    they finally got their laser levels!

    The Costa Concordia is owned by an American company and it crashed in Northern Italy. How does there being no Southern Italian engineering involved prove any of your dumb theories? It doesn’t.

    You also have no proof that all of the engineers were Northern European and Northern Italian, and no proof that Southern Italians have lower IQs. You have nothing, which makes you a troll.

      @Aldo: We’ve gone through this before (read the links). The ship was owned by Carnival Cruises. You might want to check the news for those guys.

      As well, the post wasn’t mean to prove anything (I have many other posts for that; see at the top right). It was to serve to exemplify what’s going down…literally, at the time…

    And yet we are the only ones you choose to turn into clowns because of it. Or maybe the tongue-in-cheek “I Love Slavs!”, “I Love Indians!”, “I Love Arabs!”, and “I Love Blacks!” tags that you use when discussing those groups and their dysfunctions are just not showing up in my web browser.

    I have no problem with honest discussions about human biodiversity, even when the subject of discussion is my group’s poor performance in certain areas. But there is a respectful way to discuss a group’s shortcomings and a disrespectful way to discuss them. Your posts on southern Italians have not been respectful.

    You obviously think that HBD is important enough to write about continuously, and that your own insights are important enough to warrant blogging about them. Then show respect for the subject and for your own ideas by finding ways to make the points you want to make without leaving such a bad taste in people’s mouths.

      Rather short-tempered and stingy about their honor… typical Italian reaction. xD

    Jay, how do you explain portugal leading the way in discoveries, the astrolab, and let’s not forget, if it wasn’t for the portuguese, your ancestors wouldn’t have been shipped across the ocean?

    • JayMan / Oct 2 2013 2:12 PM

      @skank alert:
      There may be a regional gradient in average IQ in Portugal. Besides, an average IQ of 94 doesn’t preclude inventiveness.

    Let’s not forget the contribution of marco polo, with out him, no mozzerella for your pizza, or pasta. With out marco polo, no pasta.

    With out southern italy, you wouldn’t have the davinci or angelo

    With out portugal you wouldn’t have the world.

    I think your genius is wasted, in 100years no one will know you were, now if there was Jay’s symphony No 5, or Jay’s partita in A# minor for violin and cello, your genius wouldn’t go to waste

      @Mozart’s cat:

      Marco Polo was Northern Italian my friend.

    I was just thinking of this whole northern versus southern narrative in europe, one interesting thing I’ve noticed is that the southern countries are least given to multi culti, are the least open to allowing foreigners in, and surprisingly, the least accepting of the TRIBE.

    Could it be, the the powers that be are punishing the southern countries for not being moulded as the powers want them moulded?

    Look at sweden, they idly assist in their self destruction, and its no surprises that the TRIBE members have a heavy presence in sweden.

    Jay how do you account for the explosion of the renaiscance in the middle ages, did people go from knuckle dragging to enlightened in a decade?

      My man, see HBD Chick’s rule. No sock puppetry. Please stick with a name, even if that is anonymous.

      The era that preceded the Renaissance wasn’t one where there was no progress, but there was gradual progress leading up to it. And rapid advancement was the result of certain inventions and, perhaps most importantly, the end of serfdom thanks to the Black Death. A period of rapid development can ensue once a population reaches a certain threshold in either cognitive abilities or temperament.
