Went over to Robert Lindsey’s closing of his site, linked by hbd*chick, and caught the scuffle there. You remained civil and on topic when the temptation to do otherwise was high. (Well, I only read half of it, so if you lost your temper later I missed it.) There seems to be a listening problem over there.

Of course, we all find it hard to attend to arguments were are unsympathetic toward, as CS Lewis noted, and they may not be worse than the average. I don’t much think about whether I agree with you or most other hbd writers, because there is so much that is fluid and emphases can change so quickly. But I’m thinking that promising to agree with you was not much of what you had in mind when you opened a comments section.

Pretty much. Disagreement is welcome and healthy, so long as what you say is sound.

BTW, Woodard’s redividing of the continent may be an improvement on DHF and Garreau (both of whom he is clearly indebted to), but I found him insufferable and couldn’t read the book.
